Eccentrick Art Show

This year I found myself at the art show for almost the entire school week. Starting on Monday night at the Gala Opening, I had the opportunity to work at the art show. Security in the Comm/Tech and Tech department was amazing. It was great to have people from different schools visit and checking out our magnificent art. From The Your Best Friend Films to the Hip-Hop workshop/demo. It was definitely worth the five bucks. What people dont realize is all the hard work that goes into a show like this. 1 Week of settting up, 1 week of the art show, 1 Week of Take down. 3 school weeks all together. This shows the type students that Mary Ward has. Eccentrick has been amazing from Day 1 till the end of the week. I definitely expect to be back next year, I also expect to be even more involved in the Art Show next year.

Everybody's Amazing and Nobody's Happy

I believe that this is true, eveyone gets mad at all the great things in life. The computer has been great to many people around the world, but yet we still get mad at out compters for being to slow, or if the internet is down. Technology is a magnificent thing if it is used properly, the only thing is, with all great things there are always people that are trying to ruin them, with credit card frauds, identity thefts, the technological world has definitely made it easier to exploit these things. This is why people are left angry at technology, this is why people are always whining. Things are never good enough for us, but on the real; we are very lucky to have these things available to us because there are many people in the world that are unfortunate and dont have these types of technology available to them

Cell Phones Manners Matter

I think that manners for cell phones are very important because even though technology is great, we must not abuse it. We must be courteous to other people. I think that cell phones should not be used while driving because it poses a threat to other drivers and you are much more prone to get into a car accident. Also people should not be texting in class because as the teacher is talking you dont want to interrupt them, it is only fair to them that you pay attention and listen.

1. Use but never abuse cell phones
2. Never use cell phones in class
3. Never talk on the phone while driving
4. Always be courteous to other people while using your cell phone.
5. Dont talk to loud on the phone while in a public area

Colossal University Ad

The message that the message of Collosal University Ad is conveying is that why would you want to be treated like a number. They are saying that "Colossal University" is the typical university where professors dont take the time to get to know you, or care about your education. This ad is the platform for Algoma University, this university is described as a wonderful environment as professors don't treat you like a number, they treat you like a real person. For real I have not really heard of Algoma University ever in my life. I am thinking that this is a very small university, overall I think that this campaign ad isnt really good because no one cares about how the professor really treats you. Everyone wants to go to a Top of the line university with a high class education, because of this people dont look outside of the picture and people dont end up looking for a school where the professors care. My brother goes to Ryerson University for Business Management, he hates most of his professors but he has to put up with them because he wants to stay in Ryerson for their really good Business program. This is why I think that the bottom line of the ad campaign is an epic fail because it is too small of a university to challenge bigger universities with much more popular programs.

Gaming Gone Wild

Wow video games, the first thing that comes to my head is NBA2K9, like honestly it is obviously the best sports-simulation game out there. The player faces are so real, the reactions, crossovers, sweat, even the shooting form is exactly like the real thing. I play video games a lot, im not going to lie, I am a "gamer". Only sports games though, I play NBA2K9 a whole lot. With technology these days you can connect and play with any random person in the world. I remember one time I played NBA2K9 for 9 hours straight due to my 15 game winning streak online and my rank on 57/97000 gamers on NBA2K9. After this my eyes were gone, they were so tired that right after I played video games I went straight to bed. In my opinion I think that video games are addicting, but you can always say no or enough is enough. Even though I play a lot of video games I still make time for school, school sports like basketball, volleyball and dragonboat. Outside of school I also play rep basketball, from this I think that you can still have time for video games and other extra-curricular activties. As with any new technology there are flaws to them. Video games are now so realistic and competitive many people are always trying to be the best and trying to forget about the real reason why video games where made and that is to have fun. But don't forget there are other ways to have fun like spending time with your family, friends, going out to play sports, being active helps to complete the balance between school, sports and laying back. There is more to life than winning in a video game, life is too short to be playing video games all the time, sometimes you should get out and go places, places that you don't plan on going to. The Campaign Trail

I think that the presidential commericial was really clever. It was clever because it was based on a commercial that was really popular a few ago, it was really clever how they outlined the issues in the world, like there are people that can't afford healthcare, other people are in war. A war that no one even knows what they are fighting for. Obama's platform was to help the poor, for all these years the rich have always seemed to become richer while the rest always work hard and are still left with barely enough money for food, shelter and clothes. Barack Obama proved to the world that anyone can make a difference. Barack Obama's message to the American people is that they have a chance at change if they elect him as president in which they did. Now that Barack Obama is elected president he is able to step up to the challenges that lie ahead, this includes the financial recession that is occuring at the moment in the world. Many industries are now in a downhill slump, companies are cutting back on money, employees are being laid off. The American citizens need action now because many Americans are struggling to survive and stay alive. But Barack Obama has yet to take action in any of these issues, he says that these things take time and they just dont change over night, one thing is for sure...Barack Obama is planning to be the American President for another term because he said that "4 years isn't enough". We all look forward to Barack Obama's action plan taking place in the near future, we look forward to the challenges that he faces ahead, being the president of the most prosperous nation isn't easy, plus being the first African-American President he will go through a lot of pressure.
